Tehran ⇄ France
Iranian, part-raised in France, educated in both languages — with English arriving later and staying. I studied French translation, taught it, started a master’s in comparative literature in Montreal, then went back to Iran and started from zero.
The first business — handicraft e-commerce — failed commercially and succeeded at everything else: it pulled me into the web for good.
Eight sites, no manual
At an accelerator in Tehran, the departing marketing manager taught me WordPress basics and left. I inherited eight to ten client sites overnight — B2B builds, e-commerce, content. Zero to functioning very fast, out of necessity.
That set the pattern that’s repeated ever since: get dropped into chaos, build the system.
Iran’s largest cosmetics group
Four years leading digital for the country’s biggest cosmetics manufacturer — a publicly traded group with brands across skin care, cosmetics and grooming. I built the in-house digital team from three people to eight: developers, writers, designers, video.
Hundreds of thousands of followers grown brand by brand. Thousands of influencer collaborations. Video productions with crews of twenty — in a market where half of that content wasn’t technically allowed to exist. None of that fits on a resume line.
Running the whole machine
The holding spun out an agency and put me in charge of it. Brand, web, social, SEO for corporate clients. Running a business taught me what running campaigns never had: systems either hold, or everything is improvisation with a deadline.
Starting over, again
Toronto, a second restart. Healthcare marketing by profession. And a growing itch: the systems I kept designing in decks deserved to exist in the world, not in slide 14.
The brief stays with me now
Then AI made the missing skill optional. I stopped briefing developers and started shipping: a directory, a command center, a plugin on WordPress.org, agents that do real work overnight. Strategy used to end at the handoff. Now it ends in production.
